Holy moly, Crewmates!

It’s been really awesome seeing all your excitement for the announcement of our new game Among Us Story: On Guard and the drop of our Among Us Show.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, you can stop reading and go watch the entire series on Paramount+! But here’s a treat – the first episode is on YouTube for free! I’ll just leave it right here for ya so you don’t have to go far.

We hope you’re loving the show decorations around The Skeld along with the Showbiz Cosmicube cosmetics (my favs are Purple, Orange, and Red). As of today, we will no longer be supporting any 2024 versions of Among Us. If you see “v2024” on the bottom left of the main menu, you will be affected. Please update your game to v17.4.0 as soon as possible so you can keep making MIRA HQ proud by doing tasks!

Among Us is still expanding with features, roles, bug updates, improved security, etc. and getting Crewmates on similar versions helps with that development.

In this narrative adventure, you’ll be joining MIRA R&D as the highly trained Guard. It will be up to you shed light on secrets aboard the ship, and learn about your fellow Crewmates who are absolutely not Impostors. Story Time

Guess who’s working on a brand new game! WE ARE! Innersloth is happy to present our new narrative adventure, Among Us Story: On Guard.

As a part of MIRA R&D you’ll be stepping into our new Crewmate training program as The Guard. In this story game, there are tasks that need doing, secrets that need revealing, and new Crewmates to learn about. There’s probably no murder to worry about. That would be against company policy. Don’t worry, we’ll cover the rest once you’re on the job.

You’ll be able to get hands on with the game with a demo releasing on Among Us’s 8th birthday, June 15th 2026!

And if you like the sound of that, we have just the thing to keep you grooving when the demo drops! You can listen to the the original soundtrack starting on the 15th too!

The Among Us animated show is OUT NOW on Paramount+, and the first episode is FREE on YouTube. I’m so nervous-excited I’m going to smash my visor against the airlock.

This is a show about teamwork and betrayal. Crewmates of a ship transporting Ore+ across the galaxy must root out an Impostor in their midst before they fall victim to its villainous designs.

We’re thrilled to have produced this in partnership with CBS Studios, with Owen Dennis (Infinity Train) as showrunner and Titmouse as the animation studio. Welcome to MIRA Research & Development! Take a step into our simulator to start the new Crewmate training program. Your first task? Become Guard! You’re in charge of shipwide security and ensuring the crew gets to their destination safely. Everything will be fine, provided an Impostor doesn’t start murdering Crewmates! But just hypothetically, if that does happen? You’ll need to prove your innocence and find the Impostor before it can get to the rest of the crew… and you. We advise solving murders The MIRA Way!

M – eet the Among Us universe in a whole new way. Step into the world of the Guard, tasked with maintaining security on the ship. You’re the first and last line of defense against a universe that wants to kill the crew.  

•
I – dentify the Impostor. You’ve trained for this. Murders? False accusations? This might be difficult for someone who hasn’t already been honed into a tool of vengeance and detection by years of Emergency Meetings. Admin didn’t raise, emotionally neglect, and eventually abandon a quitter.

R – eap the rewards of your investigation. Who is an Impostor (there might be more than you think) and which Crewmates can you trust? Inside the simulation, explore three unique endings that are paramount to improving safety for the good of all Crewmates. Probably.

A – nd complete tasks. As per the Crewmate Handbook you definitely agreed to, murder and murder accusations do not absolve you of your workplace duties. Complete tasks to progress through your mission and discover clues to build your case against the Impostor.

Right now our plans are for PC and the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2! It’s likely we’ll have more in the future, but don’t worry about it for now. You have much bigger, more murder-y things to worry about first.

Your life. And some money. But we haven’t nailed down a price yet.

Who is the Impostor?
There are no Impostors.

Will this be a super long game?
No! While there will be different endings and you may want to replay it, we also want to respect your time. As a single player narrative game it’ll be a chaotic, silly, and beansized experience for your enjoyment.

Meet a colorful cast of Crewmates and find out which one of them puts the “I” in “Impostor”. Have fun getting to know everyone! (Try to ignore that any of them might be plotting your death.)

Huh… is it just us or are the Crewmates older?

It’s time to take a trip down memory vent because Among Us has reverted to its original look for April Fool’s Day Week with update v17.3.0! We haven’t used the OG art of the game since it was updated back in 2021 – doesn’t time fly? So, now’s your chance to jump in and relive (or live for the first time) that classic Among Us feel in your lobbies.

Isn’t there something just right about the OG look? The slightly different leg, the more crooked visor… it’s what Crewmates always were. While the mode is active, not everything gets reverted to the old look – it only works on items we have old sprites for like the Crewmates, Impostor kills, Emergency Meetings calls, and some of the cosmetics.

And don’t worry – if you prefer the modern look you can always toggle the mode off in the lobby creation menu. Round up your friends and start a lobby quick! Nostalgia Mode will only be here until April 8th at 17:00 UTC (10am PDT /1pm EDT).

Hi Crewmates!

If you know us, you know we typically release our roadmap several months into the new year. BUT LOOK AT US NOW. Give you the information at the START of the new year. Thank you, thank you, please hold your applause.

For real though, we wanted to be faster, stronger, and better for the new year, so we will be splitting our roadmap (AKA the development plans) into two posts. One now, another in the later half of the year This allows us to keep you updated while giving flexibility to our timelines!

But enough explanations. Let’s look at what you can expect for the first half of 2026:

Roles
Roles, roles, roles. You ask for them, we’re making them. Currently we have 15 prototypes in the works – not all of them will launch and honestly, it’s likely only 1 or 2 will see the light of day next year. (But… maybe… more…???)

We extensively test new roles! We want to make sure we hit a balance of being fun without overly complicating things, but also giving variety for all the different kinds of players out there. Some like a simple passive mechanic, while some sickos love things getting complicated. (I see you, Detective players).

Whether it’s an Impostor role, Crewmate role, or even Ghost role, Admin is giving these beans a real education to be even more fun to play in 2026. Whatever does come out next year, we hope you enjoy!

New Cosmicubes
You want more items. I want more items. We all want more items!!!

Cosmicubes are always something we have a blast working on, so make sure you let us know what you want to see in the coming year. We already have some ideas you’ve thrown at us, but Admin is always listening to the screams of the crew…

Collabs
We already have our first collaboration cosmetic lined up for next month. Take a guess. You’ll never guess it. Unless you do. In which case I will have to ignore you because I am bound to secrecy until it can be shown.

But we know part of the fun has been seeing what characters we can get into the game, so similarly to the new Cosmicubes, let us know if there’s anything you want to see in the Amogus Universe!

Continual work on the TV Show
IT’S NOT DEAD OKAY, DON’T WORRY. And that’s it! We just wanted you all prepped and primed before the new year. Not a ton, but TRUST the cogs of The Skeld are chugging along. If anything gets added to this roadmap, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Thank you for a ✨stellar 2025✨ full of fun updates, multiple vent cleaning claims, and you-definitely-not-asking-us-about-the-TV-show-and-where-it-is. (It is NOT cancelled??? Why do I keep seeing people claim this please lmao.)

I wanted to do a silly recap of what we’ve accomplished together this year, but FIRST let’s get through some housekeeping.

New Years Eve 2026 Drop
Our yearly tradition is coming! Get a special, limited time NYE 2026 Hat for FREE when you log in starting December 26, 07:00 UTC. Ring in 2026 with your Crewmates and ensure you can be the person in future lobbies going “Oh this hat? It was limited edition. You just had to be there.” Ahhh, FOMO. This giveaway ends on January 31, 2026 so don’t forget about it!

Until then, the Snowflake, Snowbean, and Gift Cosmicubes are BACK! Celebrate the winter holidays and snag them before they melt away on December 31.

Innersloth Holiday
Innersloth (that’s us) will be on winter holidays starting now (December 15) until January 5th, 2026. During that time expect less posts on social media (unless I get bored waiting in line for something and start replying to stuff on my phone lol) and no updates during this time. (Victoria not using parentheses while writing a devlog challenge: IMPOSSIBLE.)

2025 Recap
Now let’s take a walk down memory lane and see all the horrors tasks we’ve completed this year. Fun fact: this year, everyone on the Innersloth team are confirmed Crewmates. We think. We’re still not really sure about Gary.

First, let’s reflect on the 2025 Roadmap we released:

Improved Matchmaking
Update v16.0.0 back in March brought an important change to Among Us – a new way to create and find lobbies! We got solid feedback from you on what you needed to find your perfect match (thanks to everyone who filled out the Player Feedback form near the beginning of the year), so we added filters, the ability to view settings before you join a game, and more.

I am still obsessed with the way Crewmates fill up the maps on the Create Game screen by the way. The details of what they’re doing… *chef’s kiss*

New Roles
In September, we released two new roles in v17.0.0: Detective and Viper!

The Detective was our first Crewmate role that needed much more involvement and big brain IQ to properly strategize with. (Confession: I am terrible at this role. My brain is too small.)

Meanwhile, the Viper got a cool custom kill animation and got to wreak havoc in lobbies. Shout out to this one comment I saw that said “I got puked on by Viper, the animation is grosssss 😂”. Please consider it an honor to be puked on by Viper.

Collabs
The most recent (and ongoing) collab was with the ConcernedApe himself for a Stardew Valley Cosmicube! This all started when we bullied him into going to the aquarium with us in Seattle back in 2023. (I’m joking.) (But we did go to the aquarium!) Don’t forget to pick it up for a mere 3300 Beans before it ends in February 2026.

Our big collab this year was with RGG Studios to bring the Kamurocho gang to the game in an official Cosmicube. Please tell me you saw the karaoke video we made for it. Please. And if you already saw it, watch it again.

But that wasn’t all! To celebrate their Version Luna I launch, we’ve teamed up with Genshin Impact to bring a Paimon look to Among Us. The Impostors definitely used it as Emergency Food.

And back by popular demand was the Pusheen Cosmicube! Who knew something so cute could be so evil. You all truly have yelled at us SO MUCH to bring it back, and I have definitely seen a significant increase in Pusheens running around these lobbies, knocking over juice boxes.

If you had a keen eye (visor?) you also likely saw our Crewmates (Impostors?) popping up in quite a few other games too! Not only was the Among Us Backbling back in Fortnite, but you could see Crewmates invading What The Car?, Unrailed 2, Tavern Talk, Spirit City: Lo Fi Sessions, and Snake.io.

Cosmetics
We released a whole Racing Cosmicube in June! BEAN FOR SPEED. The team was making Fast & Furious jokes the entire month. (It’s not a Fast & Furious collaboration at all but it was too funny making “family” jokes.)

Security Stuff
We had depreciated 2022 and 2023 versions of Among Us to ensure everyone was on similar versions and got all the improved features, bug updates, and improved security measures.

The lies you’ve told during Emergency Meetings so that you could get away with murder. The unravelling of your core values as you realized how easy it is to manipulate your best friends. They thought you were sweet. Docile. Innocent, even. Then you showed them. You showed the WORLD what you could do when given the opportunity to sabotage the lights. I’m disgusted by you. But also… in awe. Here I am, sitting in the safety of Admin, while you’re out there making a name for yourself. I respect you. I fear you. I hope to never walk along the same path as you because I know that if we were to lock visors, I would be dead.
