Expedition Departure Issue Update
Look out, Raiders!
We have an update regarding the Expedition-related issue where you could automatically be signed up for Departure if you had completed the associated Damage Challenge.
We want to err on the side of caution. We will revert the Departure sign-up for players whose sign-up behavior appears representative of this issue. This may be done in several waves, starting tomorrow, July 17 11:00 AM CEST.
Throughout the weekend, please make sure to check the in-game Expedition tab and verify that it shows the correct information for your case. If you had previously been signed up for departure automatically and this does not revert by the end of day tomorrow, please reach out to our support team as soon as possible.
If you have changed your mind and want to depart, you can still opt in to do so. Additionally, Last Call will be available as usual for those of you who aren’t able to sign up for Departure before the deadline.
We will be monitoring closely ahead of the Departure window closing and will continue working on a fix to prevent future instances of this issue. Thank you for your patience.

Store Update 1.37.0
Raiders!
Store Update 1.37.0 is going live right now on all platforms with two new colour variants for the Driftcoat outfit - black/green and red. You will get them automatically if you already own the skin, no restart required.
We have seen your feedback about the Seeker Grenade feeling weaker since last week’s update and we have been investigating the issue. We noticed an unintended effect from a collision change on the projectiles and the team is working on a fix - we will let you know as soon as it’s ready.
We have also been looking into your reports of being automatically signed up for Departure after completing the “Deal Damage” challenge (reaching 100,000 damage dealt). This is unintentional, and we’re working on a fix.
Following last week's fix for the duplication glitch, we've been banning accounts that gained a significant advantage from exploiting it. That effort continues this week, similarly to how we handled it in February:
•
Warnings for low-severity cases where abuse was limited.
•
Removal of Coins and items tied to exploit activity.
•
Suspensions for the severe cases, particularly, where exploit usage had a significant impact on the in-game economy or other players’ experience.
Players who deliberately exploited the glitch but didn't gain a major advantage will not be suspended. And if you simply received a few items from someone who was duping, without knowingly exploiting the glitch yourself, you may receive a warning.
Our goal is to only take action against those who significantly and deliberately abused the exploit, not to catch players who were incidentally affected.
Thank you to everyone who reported the issue and continued to play according to the rules.
See you Topside,

Hotfix 1.36.1
Raiders!
We have just pushed a hotfix on all platforms to mitigate a duplication issue as well as the UI bug in the Expedition screen that showed Skill Points instead of Mystery Rewards for players on their fourth Expedition.
As we stated before regarding the use of exploits, we will continue issuing bans on accounts that have been gaining significant advantage.
Restart your game to download.
Thank you everyone for your reports and for playing by the rules.

Live Update 1.36.0
Raiders!
Your tentative alliance with the Nomads is progressing by the day. Nomads wander the streets of Speranza, bringing stories, valuable information, and loot to trade. As the ARC presence Topside ever increases in scale, making reliable friends has never been so important.
The 1.36.0 update has just dropped, bringing bug fixes, QoL updates, matchmaking tweaks, new Expedition and Trials Season, and a crossover outfit from the virtual gameshow world of THE FINALS!
What’s New?
•
Expedition 4 - Zenith Outfit
•
Trials Season 5 - Scorta Outfit
•
Solo, Duo, and Trio Matchmaking
•
ARC Raiders & THE FINALS Crossover
•
Store Update - The Triumph Set
•
Store Redesign
Solo, Duo, and Trio Matchmaking
Following your feedback on the Matchmaking survey published in May, we have implemented one of the most requested matchmaking features:
We now track your playstyle separately for Solo, Duo, and Trio rounds, and match you accordingly.
Say you are a friendly solo player, but your two squadmates always want to dominate in trios PvP. Before, being friendly solo could push you into more cooperative trio rounds, and playing PvP-focused in a trio could push you into more PvP-focused solo rounds - so changing squad size meant matchmaking took a bit to adjust.
Now, there's no overlap. You'll be able to go from friendly questing and plant-picking in Solo rounds to adrenaline-fueled PvP Trio games (if that's how you usually play in those respective cases), by simply changing your squad size. The same holds for Duo - all three are tracked on their own.
ARC Raiders & THE FINALS Crossover
Complete a set of Contracts in THE FINALS and unlock the Azimuth outfit and Archeologist backpack bundle in ARC Raiders. Inspired by explorers, Raiders, and Contestants who dare to chase new horizons beyond the stratosphere.
This promotion is available from July 9th 3pm CEST until July 30th 3pm CEST before we flip it around, letting you earn the Azimuth bundle in THE FINALS by playing ARC Raiders.
See you in the Arena... and The Rust Belt!

Maintaining Fair Play
We know Topside can sometimes be dangerous and unpredictable (which is why we love it), but nobody’s a fan of Raiders finding ways to get unfair advantages.
Since our May update on Ensuring Fair Play, we’ve been striving to provide steady updates on how the fight against players who seek unfair advantages is going. Today, we’re taking a moment to recap everything we’ve been up to, and to provide some additional details.
Anti-Cheat and Detection
Over the past few weeks, we’ve completed our rollout of Denuvo Anti-Cheat. It is now enforced for all players, and the results we’ve seen so far have been promising.
Thanks to the efforts of our anti-cheat team, we are continuously getting more effective at identifying & acting against cheaters.
These improvements are the product of constant refinements to our anti-cheat stack (hardware & software detection, ML-driven input telemetry analysis and much, much more).
Handling & Preventing Item Duplication
Like with anti-cheat, we are always working against duplication exploits. We’re keeping a close eye on the game economy, and constantly catalogue, investigate and seek to counteract exploits.
Recently, we’ve fixed some exploits related to duplication. We always want to make sure fixes are widely effective, so we make sure to monitor and evaluate our success before sharing that progress with you.
Evolving “No Free Loadouts”
Sometimes, going into a high-value map condition and encountering raiders with free kits can also feel unfair. Since 1.33.0, we have introduced the experimental “No Free Loadout” requirement for Night Raid and Close Scrutiny. We’ve seen your reactions, and we’re taking your feedback into account.
We are looking into expanding “No Free Loadout” to more map conditions and investigating other opportunities to further improve the experience overall. We really appreciate the feedback you have been sharing in the survey from last week and we will keep you in the loop once we have new changes for you to try.
What’s Next?
There is yet more work to be done, of course. When we can, we want to share more of our progress on all of these initiatives. As you may have noticed, you now receive an in-game Action Notice when we’ve taken action against someone you reported. We’re also continuing to compensate for loot lost to cheaters, regardless of whether you reported them or not.
These are separate parts of the same system. We will continue to provide progress updates when we can, and we’re thankful for your efforts in reporting and informing us about unlawful behavior.

The Fourth Expedition
The fourth Expedition is almost here, and it’s bringing some exciting changes. Each Expedition we run, we learn something new and look for ways to make improvements. This time around, that means shaking things up with an updated reward structure.
Complete your fourth Expedition to earn the first level of the new Zenith Outfit. Prove yourself with the Expedition Challenge and instead of Skill Points, you’ll earn Blueprints to jumpstart your Topside adventures and Raider Tokens to keep you looking sharp every step of the way.
TIMING:
The departure window will be open between the 7th of July 1pm CEST/11am UTC/4am PT and the 21st of July 10am CEST/8am UTC/1am PT. You will have 14 days to sign up and complete the requirements and all players who have signed up will depart automatically.
As with all previous Expeditions, completing your Caravan does not count as signing up for the Expedition, you still have to sign up during the window. The ‘last call’ feature will also be active during this Expedition in case you miss the window.
Expeditions are a personal progression that players complete in order. The Caravan can be completed in between Expedition windows but finishing the Expedition can only be done during the scheduled Expedition window.
HOW TO DO THE EXPEDITION:
•
Complete the Caravan
The option to contribute to the Caravan starts as soon as you complete the previous Expedition and if this is your first Expedition, you can start contributing right away.
•
Wait for the Expedition Window
The next window opens on July 7th at 1pm CEST/11am UTC/4am PT and closes on July 21st at 10am CEST/8am UTC/1am PT.
•
Sign Up
Once the Expedition window opens, you need to sign up.
•
Complete the Challenge
In order to get the rewards, players will need to complete a challenge within the Expedition Window (more details below).
•
Catch Up
Catch up on missed skill points (max 5 per Expedition) for players on their second, third or fourth Expedition (more details below).
•
Depart
Everyone that signed up departs on July 21st at 10am CEST/8am UTC/1am PT.
REWARDS:
The rewards depend on your personal progression which means that if you’re doing your first, second or third Expedition, you can check your rewards here.
Mystery Rewards
Players embarking on their fourth Expedition will no longer earn Skill Points from the Expedition Challenge. Instead, you'll receive Blueprints and Raider Tokens, delivered after your departure.
The number of rewards you receive is based on damage dealt during the departure window, using the same thresholds as the previous Expedition. Note that unlike Skill Points, these rewards have no catch-up mechanic.
This is the first time we are trying the Mystery Reward system and we will be monitoring it closely to see how it performs and analyse your feedback. As always, we may make changes in the future as we continue to try to improve
To claim all five Bonus Rewards, hit the following damage thresholds before the departure window closes:
•
Reward 1: Deal 5 000 total damage
•
Reward 2: Deal 10 000 total damage
•
Reward 3: Deal 30 000 total damage
•
Reward 4: Deal 50 000 total damage
•
Reward 5: Deal 100 000 total damage
Blueprints
Each completed departure objective rewards you with one Blueprint. Keep in mind that these Blueprints are temporary and will reset when you depart on your next Expedition. The Damage Challenge rewards are safeguarded against duplicates, meaning you won't receive the same Blueprint twice. However, this protection does not extend to the Blueprints you have carried over in Ermal's Vault.
•
List of potential Blueprints:
•
Heavy Gun Parts Blueprint
•
Complex Gun Parts Blueprint
•
Padded Stock Blueprint
•
Extended Barrel III Blueprint
•
Muzzle Brake III Blueprint
•

Raider Tokens
150 Raider Tokens will be rewarded for completing each departure objective. Unlike Blueprints, they are permanent and will not reset with the next Expedition.
Permanent
Cosmetics:
•
Now that the Patchwork Outfit is complete, doing your fourth Expedition will unlock the first step of the Zenith Outfit.
Bonuses:
•
+12 stash space (48 extra total for 4th Expedition), will be maxed out at 60 with the 5th Expedition.
•
The bonus skill points from Expeditions cap at 15. Players can still catch-up on previously missed skill points and it’s still tied to stash value. Catch-up for skill points becomes available with your second Expedition and once you get all the maximum 15 skill points, the catch-up is no longer available.
Consecutive buffs
Consecutive buffs are granted to Raiders that continue to do Expeditions in a row. The XP boost, Scrappy materials boost and repair value increase are capped at three levels, meaning that if this is your fourth Expedition in a row, the boosted values will be maintained from your third Expedition but not increased.
Missing an Expedition window doesn’t remove the progress but will result in the buffs not increasing for the next Expedition period. The buff itself is also not active during the period of the missed Expedition.
You need to do two Expeditions in a row in order to increase the buffs which means if this is your third Expedition in a row, you will get all three levels of the consecutive buffs. If you missed one Expedition window apart from the first one, you should have the second level of the consecutive buffs.
Ermal’s Vault
You can purchase up to five Expedition Vault Slots through Ermal which allows you to store items that you wish to bring with you on your Expedition.
Trials
Just like the previous Expedition, the new Trials Season will start as soon as the Expedition window opens.
New Raiders & Future Expeditions
We understand the frustration of new players that are only now starting to do their Expeditions. And The ARC Raiders Team
•
Stable Stock III Blueprint
•
Vertical Grip III Blueprint

•
Looting Augment Mk 3 Survivor Blueprint
•
Wolfpack Blueprint
•
Powered Descender Blueprint
•
Snap Hook Blueprint
We need to find the right balance of rewarding our veteran players but also give new players fair and fun ways to catch up and not feel like they are always behind. This is a continuous effort and we'll keep you updated as we have more to share.

Store Update 1.30.0
Raiders!
We have a little store update today with two new colour variants for the Leviathan Set at the store now, Midnight and Crimson Frost. If you already own the Leviathan Set, they will be unlocked automatically. No need to restart the game!
After analyzing data and the early feedback since Ermal appeared in Speranza, we are adjusting the Expedition Vault pricing this week to encourage more trading. Tier one price will remain the same and all following levels will cost 200.000.
This week Ermal will have a new set of exciting offers starting today at (6am PDT, 1pm UTC, 3pm CEST).
Read more here: https://arcraiders.com/news/store-update-1-30-0
We will continue monitoring data and feedback for next week!
We are also aware of crashes happening to players on Xbox, as well as FPS issues on PC since 1.29.0. We are actively investigating and working on solutions for these issues. We’ll keep you posted, thank you for your reports.
A note on live updates:
As we communicated in our blog about the changes to how we update ARC Raiders, live updates are going to work just a little differently from what you’re used to.
We plan to deliver a live update every three weeks. These will vary in size and scope, but we will use each one as an opportunity to address your feedback. In between these live updates, we will still be updating and hotfixing when needed, with store and Trials rotations every week. We believe that this process will give us the time and focus we need to make changes that are important to the community.

Notes on The Matchmaking System
You’ve probably seen plenty of discussion about matchmaking in ARC Raiders. We’ve been reading it too - and we want to bring some clarity to what the system is trying to do, what it does in practice, and what it doesn’t do.
What we strive for
In the Rust Belt, the kind of Raider you become should be up to you.
Topside works because it’s unpredictable. You can never be sure if you can trust the people you meet, or how dangerous they might be. That freedom - and the uncertainty it creates - is what drives the tension, the encounters, and the choices that make every run feel like its own story.
At the same time, we don’t want dedicated PvP players to consistently steamroll Raiders who aren’t as interested in PvP, or who are still finding their footing. So our matchmaking is built around two goals:
•
Fairness: We do our best to match players who have a similar likelihood of succeeding in the round. One simple example: we prioritize matching equal squad sizes where possible.
•
Enjoyment: We do our best to match players who are likely to have fun together. In practice, we’ve found that matching players based on playstyle drives enjoyment and reduces friction.
And like any matchmaking system, we pursue those goals while respecting real constraints, such as matchmaking time and latency.
Playstyle-based Matchmaking
We take multiple factors into account when forming a lobby. One of the strongest is your playstyle across previous rounds, especially as it relates to how you engage with other Raiders.
It’s important to understand that playstyles aren’t binary. This isn’t “friendly” vs. “shoot on sight.” It’s a continuous scale.
•
Some Raiders are almost always cooperative.
•
Some Raiders are highly engaged in PvP.
•
Most Raiders fall somewhere in between - maybe friendly until threatened, maybe opportunistic, maybe cautious, maybe unpredictable on a bad day.
Our system tries to place you with players who sit closer to you on that scale, while still keeping Topside from becoming completely predictable.
What it does
There are two simple rules to how playstyle-based matchmaking behaves:
•
Similarity is more likely, not guaranteed. You have a higher chance of being matched with Raiders whose past playstyle is similar to yours - and a lower chance of being matched with Raiders whose playstyle is very different. But there is no hard guarantee.
•
Your behavior shapes your future lobbies - gradually. If you change how you play, the kinds of Raiders you tend to meet will gradually shift over time. Your behavior influences what’s most likely - but never locks you into a single experience.
This is why we see such a wide range of interactions Topside: Raiders forming impromptu musical bands and others vibing along; strangers lending a hand in a tough moment while scavengers thrive on remains; betrayals when you least expect them and justice when you need it most; firefights that start on sight - and negotiations that end with everyone walking away.
Some outcomes are rarer than others - but they’re all part of what makes each round a unique adventure. This isn’t a full-blown attempt to segregate playstyles. Topside wouldn’t be Topside if it didn’t throw you a curveball every now and again. We want you to have fun - but danger always lurks, and you will still meet Raiders who surprise you.
Mythbusting
We want to keep some level of mystery in matchmaking, because unpredictability is part of the experience - but we can clear up a few common myths:
•
There are not only two kinds of lobbies - friendly and aggressive.
It’s a scale, not two buckets. Most players land somewhere between the extremes, and matchmaking is more likely to pair you with Raiders whose playstyle is similar to yours on that scale - without guaranteeing a specific outcome every round.
•
One shot or kill does not immediately put you in “PvP-focused” lobbies.
Matchmaking isn’t meant to overreact to single moments - it looks at patterns over time, and changes tend to be gradual rather than instant.
•
There are no “PvE-only” lobbies/servers where other Raiders will never attack you.
Topside always carries risk. You may trend toward meeting Raiders with similar preferences, but there’s no guarantee you’ll never be attacked by another Raider.
•
Your end-of-round feedback does not affect matchmaking.
The survey is valuable for us when we look at trends and make design decisions, but it isn’t used as a “next lobby” lever.
•
Your loadout does not affect matchmaking.
Matchmaking isn’t driven by your kit, and we don’t scale lobby difficulty based on how much your loadout costs.
•
Patches and updates don't reset your matchmaking profile.
Your playstyle history carries over across patches. You may notice slightly rougher matches in the first few minutes after an update - that's just because the pool is small while players are still updating - but it recovers quickly as more Raiders come online.
•
Looting knocked-out players doesn't affect your matchmaking.
Matchmaking looks at how you engage with other Raiders, not what you do with their gear afterward.
•
We don’t matchmake based only on the squad leader.
Each member influences the squad profile - the leader has no special weight compared to their squadmates.
•
Turning crossplay on or off does not impact the level of cooperation / PvP in the round.
Changing crossplay changes who’s in the matchmaking pool (and thanks to that, the matchmaking time), but it doesn’t guarantee the tone of your encounters.
New matchmaking changes
Based on community feedback, we've identified two major shortcomings in how we used to estimate playstyle - and both are getting addressed:
1. Defending yourself is no longer treated the same as starting a fight. Previously, your playstyle didn't capture whether you started a PvP encounter or merely defended yourself. This meant cautious Raiders could be treated as more PvP-focused than they actually are. Now, the two are treated differently.
2. Low-activity rounds carry less weight in your playstyle history. Rounds with little Topside interaction - like spawning and surrendering - used to impact player’s estimated playstyle more than expected. Reducing their weight helps the system reflect how you genuinely play when you're out there making choices.
These are live now, and we'll keep tuning them as we see how they play out.
Raid, your way
To sum it up: we’re committed to making Topside more fair, more fun, and more rewarding - without sanding off the edges that make ARC Raiders what it is.
Play how you want to play. Over time, your behavior helps shape the kinds of Raiders you’re most likely to encounter. But there will always be room for the unexpected.
