Diablo 4 Season 14 is upon us, and it's an important moment for Blizzard. Its Lord of Hatred expansion has largely been a triumph, rounding out the ongoing story arc and bringing a bit more needed structure to the endgame. The big question now is whether the studio can carry that momentum forward into its first big reset, keeping players coming back for more. There's certainly a lot to look forward to in the 'Season of Death Awakening,' from the finalized implementation of proper leaderboards and SSF mode to a Warlock free trial and an Overwatch collab, although that latter addition has left me rather unsettled.

For those loathsome of greed, strike down a deluge of greedy pests with March of the Goblins. The event reputation board is back, completing the final rank will earn you the Regalia of the Sacred Creed.

Blizzard has released its next Diablo 4 patch notes, which solve a range of gripes blocking quest progression and incorrectly restricting rewards across the action RPG. The new update also takes aim at a few cheeky tricks with War Plans that could be used to spawn effectively infinite loot goblins at a time, or continuously fight the Amalgam of Rage over and over. It shuts down some other notable exploits along the way, and corrects tooltips in the wake of an earlier fix for Ball Lightning Sorcerers.

There's nothing quite like brutally killing hordes of demons and receiving an explosion of legendary loot in return. Diablo 4 nails the formula, creating one of the best RPGs for action-loving fanatics like me, while also delivering a much more cinematic story than previous entries. With years of updates, two expansions, and plenty of improvements across the board, it remains one of my favorite time-wasters, and it's available alongside seven other games this May as part of the Humble Choice subscription from Humble Bundle. That works out as less than $2 each, for reference.

We all play Diablo for our own reasons. Some of us like the dopamine hit of smacking monsters and watching numbers go up. Others want to optimize their builds, honing every little piece of gear to be the best it could be. I, however, am simply a sucker for Sanctuary. Blizzard has created a world quite unlike any other; one where you don't expect a happy ending, yet run headlong towards death and destruction with fervor. Its characters are masterful, brought to life with stunningly macabre visuals and a cast of voice actors that have been woefully overlooked. Put simply: Sanctuary is perfect in its imperfection.
